Das sweet shop although there is no evidence to verify the claims. Rasmalai is a Bengal favourite and due to its association with royalty, it is often used in grand events like marriages. Origin of this Bengali sweet dish RasMalai or ‘RasawMalai’ as it was originally called in Bengal, is made out of some premium products. The Rasmalai recipe is key to ensuring its royal status among the desserts. It is often considered by many as a variation or even an upgrade to the age-old Rasgulla of West Bengal. The ingredients such a clotted cream, Saffron, Pistachio and kheer reflect a tasty image in the minds of the people. But apart from calories, Rasmalai recipe does have some important nutrients in it. The likes of Vitamin D, Vitamin C and Vitamin A are present in the dessert. Having milk as one of the chief ingredients of the preparation, ensures the presence of considerable amount of Calcium as well. Rasmalai forms a part of the group of most iconic sweets across India.
